Are they likely to be carrying out low fly sorties around Wales and the Southwest during the exercise? Thanks

Have heard this is "Operation Fairford Exit" first phase of closing Fairford, moving all the gear out to Ramstein, Spangdahlem and Stuttgart. ;-)
Bombers if needed in Europe will be deployed back at Moron and not needed for middle east anymore with so many deployed locations available in different middle eastern countries, not to mention Diego.
U-2s to route through Mildenhall and Istres le Tube and still based at Akrotiri.
Concrete at FFD to be used for dual carriageways....
Mildenhall will be next !! Or will it be Lakenheath?? Believe Lakenheath is having its runways re-done which means that could be the next air station to disappear.

Cheers for any info. Mark. If so, there will be a NOTAM posted, so I'll let you all know. I'd say it's possible.

I have heard the rumours too, however the on base aviation society has not said in its newsletter that the base is closing. Over the years I have heard that Fairford is closing, every other year, yet it still remains open (mostly on care and maint). IAT have not said anything about moving next year IAT to a new location?

Showing up on SBS as Herky 11, however calling Brize Director as Herky 13.
Could also mean his serial is wrong...
Mike
Edit: Just spoken to Dave, whos at Fairford, looks like the serial is correct, but not 100%.
