The best :35 minutes I have ever had in an ac...
10 Jul 88, I was in XS458 and the other jet was XV328, both T5s... a brilliant trip!! :D
Not the best air-to-air shot I have ever taken, but what memories I have of theat time (a very difficult time in my RAF career then!!!!!)

A few from Crash Gate 3 - apologies for the poor quality. I can't compete with the quality of Terry's shots above - nice one's mate.

My father took me to a few airshows when I was a kid (70's), he was more interested in the Bi-planes & WWII stuff, but he ALWAYS made sure we had a good view when the Lightning took off, stood on its tail and aimed for the heavens. Still remember the noise and then asking "where did it go??". The last of the sportscars indeed.....

Nice pictures there, too young to have seen Lightnings. Good idea goose about lets see you lightnings etc? Could do one on spitfires perhaps some people have some old pics out of a magazine that they could post :?: We could end up with a whole huge list of aircraft though

I started off the same, it was a black and silver Kodak with a cube flash. Perfect for taking a side shot of the galaxy at Finno in the fog in 1980

Great stuff Andy. When did you first stand at CG3?
Stood there many a time early on a cold morning (it always seemed cold at Binbrook) thrilled at the sound of the Avpins going off, counting how many were coming out to play.
Great days - keep these photos coming.

Very nice Rich, thanks for posting that, must have been taken pre 1995/96 before we removed the 'overburgers' and reapplied the Sqd markings, nice shot ;)
See you in 2009 Your experiences sound like mine as a 'nipper' Lightnings low and fast from knowhere, scaring the pants off me My god did it have an effect, kida got in the blood, literally ;)

Yes Andy would be a good while ago. that was from a old CanonEOS 650 or 620. Happy days as a kid in that part of the country. with both my parents and grand parents owening caravans on that coastline from 1960 to 2002 i spent all my summer holidays and more along that coast. and the journeys from out side Lutterwrth across to that coast would be a trip routeing many bases at that time.
