Dose anybody on here fix scanners?
My Vr 500 works, but if i put 3.5mm speaker jack in, it has stopped working through to the speaker.

have you tried using some head phones it might be the 3.5 plug a break in the wire i have had a problem like that

Not familiar with that model, but is that not the way it is supposed to work. On my Yupi 7100, 3500XLt and my DX394, the speaker cuts out when earphones/headset is plugged in. It enables discrete listening.

I use a small nokia speaker with it, i have a couple of them indoors and tryed them all and with haed phones. It is the scanner not the connecting jack.

My Yupiteru 7100 kept losing freq if knocked or
if I grip it to tight .I contacted Coastal Communications told them
what was wrong they told me around £21 to fix it if it cost more they
would contact me before doing the work.sent it first class and got it
back within a week
work done was.
battery terminal repaired,
antenna socket refitted, solder joint on main pcb, full check over all
for £21 including return postage.

Called them yesterday and sending scanner off first thing Monday morning.
Spoken to the gentleman and he seems to know what he is talking about.
