Heard 'Tarnish12' working Shawbury Approach at around 12.30 (2/12) confirmed he was a Hawk and was trying to get back into low level in the Lake Vrnwy area but was having trouble due weather.
Any ideas if it was a T2 or one of the 4FTS loan examples?

Small log for today:
Tarnish 5 up in HT002 - now painted in Indian Livery Avro 7 up in Nimrod MR4A '16 IPA5 and IPA6 airborne - Tarnish 5 and 8? Tarnish 9 was on start as I left in Gr4 BS186, not sure if it went or not.
Some cracking smokey take offs thanks to the runway de-icing agent being burnt off on departures.
Nice to see loads of the Warton regulars again today.

Its The Eskmeols Range and recently a Hunter was doing trials on the Range which is unusual I think the callsign was Broadway if my memory serves me right.

It should be 'Broadway xx' where xx is two digits, an FRA call sign. I suspect that'll make it one of the two that operate out of Bournemouth, ZZ190 and ZZ191, both of which were noted down there a few days ago.

Or in other words nearly everything was scrubbed.
IPA 6 Scrubbed
Indian Hawk Scrubbed.
Saudi Typhoon 061
The only movment of note was!
13.10pm Tarnish 7 in IPA 1 ZJ 699 rotated off R 26 west bound dry this Typhoon had a radar problem which was sorted 5 minutes prior to take off.
Arrived back in the circuit and commenced diving attacks from the west from various heights on first three pullout engaged reheat other 12 were dry. landed after about an hour.
Runway caravan left and headed off to Tower always a bad sign.
As we all know Monday is usually wash day not a Friday so with the aircraft scrubbed today it may augur well for Mon BDSTM. When its a quiet day at Warton I log onto the net one of my favorite sites is http://florennes-as.be + http://openatc.com/ http://raf.mod.uk/rafspadeadam/aboutus/visualtargets.cfm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/bluestreak

Graham Tartan 61 was due to meet a Tornado from Warton according to ATC - However she didn't state his callsign. It was XV101 for anyone interested.

15.29pm Tarnish9 in Black Hawk ZK 015
15.31pm Tarnish 7 in Indian Hawk with two ferry tanks on ZK122 3481.
Now T7 asked for an exhibition takeoff, a new one on me. but it was obviously scrubbed.
15.35pm Tarnish 17 in Saudi Typhoon BS 43 ZK 061 T17 had been waiting to TO for ten minutes when he went on reheat he hit a large patch of water and turned it in to instant steam what a photo that would have made. I went to Borders Books today I bought two Aviation Books for £25.00 half price and as an added bonus I got a book of Gustav Klimt which was priced at £50.00p for £12.50p an ideal present for a wife/girlfriend with an artistic bent.
And the first prize goes to ? for realising you spell Klimt ending with a T and not a P.
Log Cont. T9 in ZK 015 landed at 16.00. Was this T9 first outing in a Warton based Hawk?.
16.01 Avro 6 in Nimrod MR4A ZJ 516 did a couple of touch and goes and climbed out over the sea for 10 minutes to dump fuel. Question for the engineers amongst us if he can do two touch and goes and rolls for about 5seconds or thereabouts before he opens up the engines why does he need to takeoff again and dump fuel for the landing.
16.07 T17 RTB in BS 43 does a couple of rollers manages to find the water again clouds of steam but not quite as spectacular on reheat, lands at 16.14pm deploying the chute. Left for tea. Freqs in use 455.775 233.175 241.925 Nimrod was on 389.450.

regarding the question about the fuel dumping , just seems like standard landing practices.on Touch n goes the crew have no plans to land so they don't need to be worried about runway length. If they have to much fuel onboard they need to calculate stopping distance and heavy landing checks.

Warning for all the regulars/visitors to photo corner next to the red/white ILS pole it is very muddy and the ground is saturated with all the recent precipitation unfortunately someone in a German automobile got well and truly stuck and three warton regulars came to his rescue. He is an old member of the old FC but didnt wish to be identified. The log has only two items of note Tarnish 9 went out for a twenty minute flight test in Black hawk ZK 015 and AVRO 4 went out in Nimrod MR4A ZJ 516 out on a 3hour sortie and RTB with slight probem but landed safely. 2 Tornados were due for flight late afternoon but no Typhoons. THe WX for today was a gin blue sky with the same on offer tomorrow.
