As Warton seems to have been very quiet with no logs or any pics in recent pics. I will now bore you with my holiday. We thought we were going down the River Elbe to Prague, wrong not enough water, so we went east into the former East Germany and Poland. The Countryside was magnificent, the bird watching fantastic. However the highlight for me was to visit Peenemunde the home of the V1 & V2 Rockets manufacturing facility. there were a lot of discarded military equipment, a number of warsaw pact aircraft plus helicopters and the largest Russian Diesel Submarine which is now open to the public as a museum. for further info just type peenemunde is the search engine. Whilst on Holiday we saw quite a lot of military jets flying in and out of German and Danish Airspace looked to be Tornados and F16s all too far away to identify. Hope to go to D510 on Wed for the Ex early start 8.0am.

Brrrr it was that cold at Spadeadam and just like yesterday we had a package of 24 aircraft the same
types as yesterday 4 Mirage 2000s flew low over Berry Hill. If Bold Avenger was the Starter then the
Main Course was definately the Dutch Cougars, AH 64s, and the lone Chinook. I suppose most people have
seen the Chinook Display. Picture that and you will have some idea of the type of flying, we all saw today
that is apart from the low level passes none higher than 20 feet over the road some less than 50 yards from
our position at Wiley Syke.
The merry band at Wiley Syke consisted Ian Geoff Pete 3 guys from Middlesborough Dave from Freckleton
+ 3 other cars on the furthest layby.

AS my body clock is still on German time. AM/PM? New build Hawk ZK030 collected by Tarnish 17 more about him later.
Vortex 037 a Puma landed PM for refuel was returning for more fuel ETA 16.30pm
Tornado GR4 ZD 749 coded 97 green Bat on tail Tarnish 20 out for about an hour on RTB did three nice rollers kissing the tarmac each time.
Tarnish 14 in Hawk XX278 need I say more.
Tarnish 17 in Royal Saudi Airforce Typhoon ZK 064 1005 first time Ive seen it painted up dry rotation on his RTB due to flock of geese flying in the overhead he had to fly a half circuit pulling a very nice tight pattern to avoid gander formation did a couple of rollers and landed.

Dunk Hi Dunk, There should be a spare set of ladders under the steps at the shed, that is unless Steve Repoman has beaten you too them, however all is not lost there are also another pair under the half completed platform at the front of the shed. Although the gates may be locked it is east to squease through the gap between the metal post and the hedge just watch out for the nettles and brambles. Frank PS The info applies to any visiting member of Fighter Control even Holty if he is reading this thread.

I had 3 hours at Ribble Rail this morning it was a visit by 130 members of the seven and a quarter inch club
Leyland Branch.
I went to warton at 13.30pm no spotters and only one solitary plane on the airfield and no wonder, its
supposed to be September it felt like January, if that wasnt off putting a local farmer has been muck
spreading in the field opposite to photo corner/shed this was on thursday and the area still reeks of it.
So tomorrow Im off to Waddington to the Air Power Demo I will be in a red Citreon C4 come and say
hello. ____________________________________ A mission without a dogfight is like goin to London abd finding all the women have been evacuated. Attributed to General Chuck Yeager.

Well I was going to Waddington today but when you wake up at 9.0am it sort of curtails your plans
somewhat, problem was I was at The Grand Theatre in front of house for Evita and bumped into an
old friend who was in the cast and one thing led to another hence a late night and no Air Power Day.
Warton Log on what at the moment is a wet and miserable Poulton. Update later. I dont know why the log turned into a new thread but that ones been deleted along with my tea. Log Tues 29.09.09 Seen flying in the Warton Overhead roundabout 11.00am a Shawbury Helo coded 56' 14.45pm Tarnish 8 in Saudi Typhoon ZK 065 Code 1006 reheat rotation RTB 15.35pm.. 15.40pm Tarnish 20 in Tornado GR4 ZD 749 coded 97 obvious reheat rotation from runway R26. what a stonking takeoff all that noise. s whilst waiting for the action there was plenty of action on these freqs 231.425 Mg ICF directing sortie after sortie. 234.775 an Airborne FAC couldnt quite make out the co-ordinates. 281.475 386.625

You may recall that Tarnish 17 flew Saudi Typhoon ZK064 1005 on a test flight last Thursday the 24th, September, and Tarnish 8 has just flown Saudi Typhoon ZK065 1006 today so by my maths 2+2 makes for delivery flight in the near future. Better contact Malta to be prepared.
