old kids tv show question

Hi all,

does anyone remember the name of a tv show (animated, not cartoon) set in space where an old sailing ship always seemed to come to the rescue of the good guys then 'sail' back off into space afterwards?

Bit obscure i know but it's been bugging me lol.

Seem to think the Series was something to do with "X-Bomber" and a young pilot called "Shilo"?

IIRC the Pirate type ship was called "The Skull".

that's it!! Thanks, i remember now, especially that the pirate ship was called 'the skull' which, if memory serves, only appeared when the good guys were in trouble,
