I have a Nikon D80 and a Sigma 50-500 Bigma. I am thinking of changing to a Sigma 120-400 OS lens. Has any one experiance of this lens or the 150-500 OS lens. Your views would help regards gordon

Hi
I have a 120-400 for my Canon and don't have a problem with it, I find the results I get in my view are of a good standard which can be touched up for half the price of the canon lense itself
Regards

I had the same thoughts when I was upgrading from a Canon 75-300 to a 400mm. Couldnt decide whether to pay for the L glass or go for the cheaper one. I asked for advice on another forum and was warned off the Sigma 400mm, because it is supposedly quite soft at the long end. I dont really think there would be any advantage for you in going for the 400, just to get the (I presume) OS. Ben

Seen some pretty poor reviews on this lens. the auto focus is slow, and as been said it is soft at the 400mm top end. plus 120 mm starting point can be to long.
Would suggest you stick with the Bigma 50-500 and try and master that, as i found the 50-500 a very capable lens. and the range is smashing for this hobby.
