Yeh its saturday 8th August. And im on shift :D. We havent got a list of visitors yet, adn if it was liek last year, we wont get the list until 2 days before. There is a rumour around camp that they are going to try and make it a big one, as its suppose to be the last one
Im hearing vulcan possibly aswell..
..thats All i know at the moment.

saturday i was having a chat to this years Typhoon display pilot, as they were at lyneham. He told me something i didnt know. He says all the raf's display teams and pilots have the first 2 weeks off in august. I.e typhoon, tornado, hawk, red arrows etc. This is not good news as familys day is slap bang in the middle of them two weeks :(

That really is bad news Liam. I can't see Lyneham having a very good turn out this year for the Familes day. A shame, if it is the last one.

YEh i thought that, But then really, what he says... only effects the flying display. They can still have lots on the ground as static. They dont need to send the hawk display pilot (for example) to park it up and leave it there for static.
We'll see :)

Normally, Lyneham gets a fairly good static turn-out for the Families Day as well, fingers crossed...

So i can Give you guys 12 hours notice of what is attending and when..
...... Although i wouldnt trust the times i will give u, as we get them straight from OPS adn they are ALWAYs wrong... especially last year.

Does not look like we will be getting the Vulcan as her next confirmed display is Whitehaven on 9th August.

Fingers crossed also! Vulcans not doing anything officially between now and then so could quite easily make a short hop to Lyneham to blow the cobwebs then go from Lyneham to Whitehaven with waypoints between...in theory?

Crew chief for 558 posted on TVOC forum she will be at Lyneham. Usual caveats apply weather, serviceability etc.

I can't say for sure, but I imagine the NOTAM for the Red Arrows would have been issued by the Red Arrows Ops; as they would have also NOTAM'ed their en-route restricted airspace at the same time.
