With 197cup's permission I have made this a sticky, where all info on movements and timings can be posted.
Today (14.06.09) with credit to DamienB on ukar expect the Vulcan to take off for cosford between 4 -4.30pm and return about 40 minutes later.
Also another rumour around the fenceline is the Vulcan is due out to Volkel on wednesday, f I hear more will post it in this thread

The Vulcan did an air to air shoot taking approx 25 mins near to Brize, while this was going on a Tristar Ascot 933 turned onto the ILS and called a go around with only 1 green light showing. When she flew over it was apparent that only the nose gear was down, the mains were in the bays with the door open. Sunsequently it called a PAN, meaning it was given priority over all other traffic. After about another 15-20 minutes in the circuit it landed with 3 greens but the main undercarriage doors open. On landing it stopped on the runway with no nose wheel steering. After another 5 minutes the instrucion to the Vulcan came over the radio to divert to Lyneham as it would take longer than the 15 minutes of available fuel she had left for holding to clear the runway.
To be clear the Vulcan had more than 15 minutes of fuel left when the decision was made but she would only hold for 15 minutes. The decision was made by the Vulcan ops crew after discussion with ATC and the onboard crew.

Merged into the Vulcan thread.
As far as I know, the Vulcan will be at Brize until they find a new home for her. But it'll be atleast until the end of the display season.

Any ideas if the Vulcan is flying back from the Netherlands on Sunday and straight over Kemble then back to Brize, or will it land tomorrow at Brize then take off/land on Sunday for the K airshow? Any ideas of the timetable for K airshow and what time XH558 is due over?

Well the Vulcan made it back to its temporary home at Brize this afternoon around 15:20. I guess the next time it's up is going to be next Saturday and Sunday for Biggin Hill. Any ideas of times?

A shame, saw her for the first time in 17 years at yesterdays Biggin Hill , listening to the scanner today, the Lancaster might not have flown too, was doing engine runs this morning, and the spitfire and hurricane have displayed and departed without her, add to that Sally B, if your a bomber fan at Biggin Hill

Good news:
XH558 now fully airworthy!
'It was with regret that we were unable to make our second display at Biggin Hill. The crew were undertaking their pre-flight checks before departure from Brize, when the elevator artificial feel unit indicated a problem. This was not something that could be corrected in time for her display.'
'This morning it has been replaced and after undergoing functional checks and independent checks - all is now confirmed as well. Safety will always be our utmost priority.'
'Whilst this can cause frustration with last minute hitches, we trust you can understand the reasons why. We now look forward to displays at RAF Waddington this coming weekend - 4th/5th July.'

Ooo, I bet they weren't pleased?!
They would have had a very long wait!

It won't be coming back tomorrow I'm afraid, they have no permit to fly, so it's grounded at Waddington until the CAA authorise one.

Not too many upset about it not coming, more like livid when I gave them the story why! One guy phoned up Waddington and we got the TVOC statement read to us over the phone, by a very stressed RAF guy, who had obviously had 400 calls along the same lines today.
