navy yankee "delta" callsigns are allocated to vp-4 so could be 163291, seeing as 160291 is an ep-3, however its probably a random flight number and could be anything

Oh right - didnt realise about the callsign allocation! I have 163291 as being allocated to VP-62 though.

Landed 13.50 291 on nose and tail so assume 163291 as 160291 is a EP3

Cheers KD

How did you guys know it was a P-3, and not an EP-3 from so early on. Something to do with the callsign, or did he state his aircraft type?

i took an educated guess on the callsign as all ep-3's are allocated to VQ 1&2

Asked Mildenhall to call their home base with their off deck time (14:40Z), and then gave out the number over the air.
