Hi Dubmasteruk, Listening to Shawbury yesterday I heard an a/c saying it was going to "Overshoot"..As a point of interest, according to the "Air Band Radio Handbook" The R.A.F terminology for an "Overshoot" is a low approach, rather than a go round. So if you were watching did the a/c make a low approach and land, or did it do a go round? Many thank's..Kindest..Jim.. :D ...

No probs. I allways term an overshoot to involve a radar approach either an ILS or PAR, either to join the circuit or depart. A fly though a visual transit down the runway working approach and straight to tower.
I know someone on here who may be able to help better since he's in the buisness so to speak.

Harrier T10 ZH665/113 20(R)SQN 'Blazer 2' diverted in this morning after a birdstrike, it was due to return to Wittering in the afternoon Other moves today were SQ HT2 ZJ243 DHFS to M Wallop for loan as 'AA250' U/K Gaz visited as 'AA225', also dep after a night stop was U/K 'AA007'. :pirat: :pirat:
Dubmasteruk stated correctly ref the overshoot, must be hanging around air traffikers too much !!

Callsign for the Merlin was 'VORTEX281' - Query ZJ990 is coded AA,ZJ994/AC ? which one?
Also overshooting during the afternoon was an unidentified Chinook as 'VORTEX542'

On loan A109E G-EMHB has been operating as 'WHISKEY101' to/fm Ternhill.This a/c is here to train instructors/crew prior to the arrival of the forthcoming examples in March.

U/D A109 8FLT '1IJ14' Performed a couple of overshoots.
G-EMHB A109E was up and about with the DHFS as 'WHISKEY74', mainly instrument flying out into eastern and Ternhill.
