Do any of the rooms have an airfield view? Know the view would be reasonably poor anyway but was just wondering.

Goose, I sat outside the pub until 8pm watching the Reapers return which could also be seen from my motel room window which looked out onto the main road, Right across to Dominoe Pizza!! I was able to lay on the bed watching the last few come home tonight before heading for the bar. The rooms to the right as you are facing the pub do have limited viewing of the Terminal builing but new buildings, trees and fencing now obscure your view. You used to be able to see the two Medivac Blackhawks that always landed on the Baseball pitch at every Airshow! This has now all gone and a new building now sits where the pitch once was. There was a Fantastic atmosphere in the bar tonight with young and old war veterans along with Air force personnel simply chatting and exchanging stories over a nice local brewed pint. Everyone was happily chatting and enjoying the ambience of it all. The C130J flight and ground crew were all very young but still had the respect for the old veterans by calling them Sir. We all sat listening to an old Gentleman telling stories of when he was based here during the war, with the up most respect for him. Aileron, I doubt I will be around as I have a presentation at BBC Ipswich first thing before having to head back to Doncaster, but you never know! I hope its a good day weatherwise and feel its a real shame we wasn't able to get on the Base and sample a "wet burger" and cold Bud again. Enjoy your day Gents Best, Rob
