As part of JOINT WARRIOR, up to 500 RAF personnel will deploy to RAF Kinloss to set up and operate an Air Deployed Operating Base (DOB) in a simulated austere location

Could also be F3’s as there is the exercise Keen Spike using Typoons and running in conjunction from Lossiemouth.

Still had no confirmation about the Maritime aircraft

lol! just a side note though, rumour abounds up here that the Super E's are actually going to Kinloss and not Leeming as previously though. Prob around 70 - 30% in favour of Kinloss at this time. But as always who knows.

Generally is there more happening at Kinloss or Lossie during the exercise? Which base has better viewing?

There are generally two launches per day. The times vary and historically, on the second week, three sorties may be flown. You can't easily see VASS (North Ramp) at Kinloss from the 26 end but it's quite flat and movements can be monitored from the 08 end. I'm biased but Lossie is my favourite.

Now on the ground at Kinloss, but some concerns about the wingspan and where they're going to park it.

Significant INS drift though!!
