All 5 Sentinels on display - last chance...

Photo opportunity 12 May early morning. All 5 Sentinels lined up for a formal photoshoot. Due to Ops and engineering away from Wadd, this is the last time all 5 ac are scheduled to be at home together for 2+ yrs.
BIG lens needed.

Did this happen ? I only noted four when I drove past. Surprised to see five AWACS outside.

The answer is Yes. they were all parked on Foxtrot. However by about 1000hrs they were being towed away.

Did the E-3D's of 8 sqn ever receive the names of the Magic Rounderabout like the Shackletons ? If not maybe they should be named after the Seven Dwarf's

They are! Don't ask which is which though... Each has a pic at the rear of the aircraft.

Plenty of people have gone off to war in a 'Timmy'! Timmy is the affectionate name for the TriStar. Tommy is the freight/tanker variant.
