That undercarrige leg has been there for as long as I can remember. I used to see it every Sunday on my way to East Fortune market with my parents. Is it not from a Brabazon? Dinger.

I believe that leg comes from a Comet. There is a story behind it but I cant remember. There is a Brabazon nosewheel assembly in the museum. The Viscount is one of the ex Cosford airframes.

Cant Remember the complete story but when the Comet flew in to East Fortune it damaged this leg and had to be helped from the airfield which I think the farmer did and in return or instead of payment the broken leg was donated once a replacement had been fitted. Goes something like that anyway. Der is correct the Brabazon nose leg is in the museum.
