Hi, around 14:10 a large heavy aircraft climbed out of waddo. I only heard it and didnt get to see what it was due to the very low cloud at the moment. Anyone know wat it was? thanks in advance Andy :)

Me and my girlfriend were down there for an hour or so earlier and in that time we saw a lynx in the distance,an islander,a plane from boscombe down(PA-31 i think)never seen one before and a nato E-3. It would have probably been the nato E-3 that you heard(didnt realise how smokey they were) :) may post some pics when i can even though the weather was crap
hope this helps stealth117

Your lynx would have been XZ214 which has been in/out of Waddington all week. Your PA-31 Navajo will be ZF622. J

Thanks for the info guys its really appreciated. The PA-31 seems to come to waddo pretty frequently now not sure why though. Its a nice plane to look at though something abit different compared to the usual heavy metal. Andy :)

Andy I would hazard a guess that the PA-31 from QinetiQ pops in due to the AWC being at Waddo amongst other units that are based even though they have no actual aircraft. Just a thought... TS
