Having realised I've been missing out on a whole host of benefits by not connecting my Bearcat to the PC, I've just ordered a cable from these people: http://www.webbedingen.com/uniden/-------USB-Cables-E_grp_35-1.html

Well I have had a play with it,but just that....a bit of a fiddle realy, you know, boys with toys and all that :) Downloaded the easy to use destruction book, and that is much better i must say. Still new and a bit daunting at the moment, but so was my Yupi for a while, but that one is second nature now. The terminology is the biggest problem......Yupi had banks and channels for the last 3 years, with a set number of each. Now i have systems, groups and channels that I have to set up... :study: :study: :study: Ordered the lead to use bctool,so I have that to learn as well! Had a bit of mil air on it today by setting up a scan on mil uhf and recieved a few tx's from Lynham and Yeovilton so at least I have blooded it so to speak. Looks a nice bit of kit though. Still a bit unsure of how to get the freqs/tags ect onto bctool,so any help would be greatly recieved :)

Definately feeling the love now :) Getting to grips with its million and one function keys, and slowly sorting the systems/groups how I want them. Alpha tagging is the poodles parts for me!! Instead of referencing a book or a piece of paper, the unit TELLS me its a hawk working Yeovilton. :P Also noticed the speed in which it scans is so much better than the Yupi.......about 100 freqs per second as opposed to the 30 or so on the Yupi. I need to get an external speaker now,as i think that will enhance the scanner immensley.....the unit speaker, imo,is not as good as the yupi one. All in all, well chuffed!!
