Book Review - Nottinghamshire Air Crashes Vide
PostSubject: Book Review - Nottinghamshire Air Crashes Book Review - Nottinghamshire Air Crashes Empty2009-03-09, 16:34

Stacey brought me the above book today. Priced £14.99 176 pages and published by Landmark Publishing.

The book provides a detailed account of some 100 aircraft crashes in 65 locations in Notts.

The amazing thing is of one crash of a Wellington III occuring in a field that I used to walk through to get to school in Wilford Village.

And the sad stories that have lost many lives.

Other aircraft have included many Lancasters, and Hampdens the sad loss of the Avro Vulcan at RAF Syerston Battle of Britain Air day, Many Canberras, Venoms and Jet Provosts and the sad loss of a crew of Tornado GR1 from the TTTE and a Civilian Pilot of which this tragic story and a quick search on the internet regarding a civil court injunction against the MOD backed by the CAA with it's 10 point rules, explains why military aircraft are no longer allowed to go low level through Nottinghamshire. Of which was a very common sight.
