also serves as accomodation for no1 air control....the radar sometimes seen at the back of the trent valley glider club. not much aircraft activity except when hosting a helo excercise...(due to not having a solid runway)

As the link states RAF Kirton-in-Lindsey is home to No.1 Air Control Centre (1ACC). It is a satellite base to RAF Scampton and is under the control of ASACS Force Command at RAF Boulmer. Assets include the UK Tactical Air Control Centre (UK TACC) along with the T101 radar (as sometimes seen behind the gliding club).
