I dont think I have seen this posted before. If I have dust on my photos say the top left corner, where is the offending dust on my sensor? Is it on the top left if I look directly at the sensor, or is everything reversed upside down inside out?. thanks

Cheers. Have cleaned sensor before and used a blower. But a stubborn dust spot always stays. Its tight to the edge and just wanted to gave an extra go at it before I give up and look to Nikon for a profesional clean.

I and many others here use this website. Very easy to use instructions with all their cleaning products. http://www.cameraclean.co.uk/

Certain of you have dust spot on the top of your picture the dust will be at the bottom of the sensor.
the blower works well on most dust , but the odd sticky bit wil need cleaning . swab and wipe's are good value and do a very god job .
many products on the market .

Whatever you do, if you're going to have a go at cleaning your sensor yourself.............be careful! Most dust can be removed by a blower or an 'Arctic Butterfly'. I tried to remove some 'stubborn stains' with a sensor cleaning swab which works well but takes a bit of nerve. Oh, and if you use a swab, use the correct size for your sensor. Ie I tried to be clever and used my 1.3 size swab on my full-frame sensor and got streaks which were a pig to get off. By the way, Canon cameras have a piece of glass in front of the sensor so you don't actually touch the sensor itself.....but still be careful!

As others have said, a spot on an image at the top will be on the sensor at the bottom.
I use a combination of Intemos sticks and sensor swabs and have generally not had any problems. The Intemos sticks have always proved useful for just this sort of situation where an annoying dust spot appears ... and they have usually been good enough to remove the offending item.

I brought a set of 12 swabs and a bottle of eclipse fluid around 4 years a go. cost me about £30 , with the kit, came a box of peco wipes that are the same material as came on the swabs. what i have done is used the 12 swabs that came with the kit and kept the plastic swab sticks. i just use the peco pad wipes on the sticks and cut down to fit , the fluid bottle is still half full as you only need 2 drops at a time. plenty of peco pads left for another 10 years and fluid . tend to use a rocket blower a lot and this keeps the swabbing down , rocket blowers cost around £7.on average i shoot around 50.000 images a year.
