James

I would like to know where your information for this came from.

If the Nimrod was the whole aircraft. How would this arrive at Stafford. When Stafford has no runway.

Tactical Supply Wing at Stafford can only handle One Chinook at a time on the pad.Unless they refuel on the football pitch.

How do i know this you might ask.The simple answer is i was a member of TSW Cadre for Three years.

Jim.

The Nimrod is a fuselage only that has been there for many years. It is visible from the main road running past the site. Not sure what it is exactly used for.

I can confirm there have been two Chinooks in today, 'Lifter' were heard and seen heading from Stafford to Nescliffe at around 16.20. In fact earlier in the week there were two other Chinooks 'PEGASIS' and an A109 at the same time. As mentioned they must be using a large landing area and not the regular landing spot.

The increased traffic at Stafford is due to Shawbury being limited on space for visitors due to resurfacing work.
