Saw two Chinooks nice and low this morning in the Shifnal area (west of Cosford). They appeared to be heading NE but only grabbed a glimpse of them from the car. Have they been seen anywhere esle today ?

There were three heard working Shawbury. All routed in to RAF Stafford. Callsigns were 'Pegasis 1 & 2' and 'Vortex575'.'

Pegasis' were together inbound Stafford, so were probably the ones you saw. They then carried out seperate sorties and 'Vortex575' was RTB to Odiham.

At a guess they were connected to the return of troops from Afghanistan as seen on the local news.
