Jason Grant's and Mark Forest's 40D's both failed within 24 hours of each other last September on our trip to the States.

Both were getting the same error code.

It was a good job I was fully ladened with Camera Gear.

Jason purchased another 40D and Mark had to borrow the 20D I purchased off him before the trip.
