Hi Folks,
Lately i have noticed a ghosting around my aircraft at long distances and around the serials/decals at close range.
My lens is crap compared to alot of others, it is just a 75-300mm USM III (non-IS) lens for EOS 350D.
I have only noticed this happening on my two latest trips, it wasn't noticeable before then.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong suddenly? I know its a cheap lens but i never had this problem before.

It is very noticeable on the Lynx HAS3 with the white numbers showing up ghosting quite a bit.
Can't afford any other lens at the moment so if this lens has had it....then so has my trips out!!

My guess is the white numbers are getting over exposed.
If you are shooting against a dark back ground it's real easy for the camera to burn out lighter areas. If you have a dark back ground Under-expose at least one third of a stop. (if the sun is out, not if it's over cast)
Dave.
EDIT...example of ghosting due to over exposure. Although difficult to see at this size, the number is pin sharp (so I know there is no camera shake etc) but the top of the aircraft is very fuzzy.

Another thing worth trying is a camera reset, my 400d started doing something similar. Did a master reset and it was fine

Many thanks Dave and Graham.
Today it was overcast for the majority and i was overexposing by 1 stop and using ISO100 and 200 at shutter of between 1/125 and 1/320. It was very hard light to get used too in different positions, each time we stopped it was different light again.

Graham, i'll also try the camera reset if i can do it on the 350D.
