The start of the year in fine weather has seen plenty of based and visitor flying. Some of the details below come from the VAS website (the things I missed - ta !)

Tuesday 6th XX255/CL and XX322/CD Hawks 100 squ. T.Mk.2 ZK014/RT004 did an overshoot
Wednesday 7th. Linton Tucanos ZF343/292/374/243/378/143 fuel stopped over lunchtime plus 100 squ Hawks XX203/CC and XX202/CF
Thursday 8th More 100 squ Hawks XX289/CO, XX258/CE and XX280/CM. A Typhoon did an overshoot, SeaKing HAR2A ZH---/Z (=ZH545) was seen on the SAR pan late afternoon and a RAFAT Hawk parked on the 208squ line during the afternoon (=XX237).
Friday 9th A Merlin popped in at 12:30

As usual, additions & corrections most welcome !

A Merlin came through Shawbury on an overshoot on Friday 9th,if it is the same one it was using the callsign 'VORTEX298'.It departed towards the MFTA and also times would be about right. Any id would be greatly appreciated. Looked like an HC3A :D

I'll hazard a guess at ZJ992 for last week's Merlin, but will check.

As for this week.....
Monday 12th CM-01 Falcon 20 (also 15th) ZJ990 Merlin

Tuesday 13th Typhoon as noted on the other post ZJ913 "AC" 17squ with Alphajet ZJ646 (black and white c/s). Hawk T1's XX222/CI and XX202/CF 100 squ.

Wednesday 14th XX168 and XX221 FRADU Hawks, XZ194/L and XZ676/N Lynx did a couple of sorties, then night-stopped. They were due to fly several more but the naff weather just meant they went home to 'Wallop instead

Friday 16th. There was a graduation but I didn't see anything going over. It turned a bit windy by lunchtime, so I don't know if the 9-ship routine took place (they had been practising in the week). Domine XS730/H braved the weather.

Thats it from me folks
Oh yes the Typhoon departure was spectacular....I was lucky enough to be out and about at the time !

One of the two planned 9 ships got airborne despite the increasing wind speed at 1230hrs, but the weather and light was appalling so no piccies I'm afraid
