The 'strictly limited' means its open for Valley Aviation Society Members/associate members and affiliate members only, up to a maximum of 750 places. All those qualifying for places must have [re]-joined by 1st July, 2009. Full details will be displayed on our website (valleyaviationsociety.net)from 1st February 2009.

As this is now a Families Day and likely to attract more Display aircraft, it means more extensive road closures will limit the views obtained from outside so as to comply with the dreaded new safeguards being imposed on the event by all sorts of official bodies too many to mention.

Does this mean that, unlike previous years, it will not be open to the public once all the members have had chance to get a place.

I am afraid so, the rules have been severely tightened up for this year with increased security and the likelihood of Royalty also training at Valley during that period. A lot of things are set to change at Valley which for years has enjoyed so much free and unobstructed access to all areas, with increased boundary fencing, stricter parking enforcement, etc to name just a few things in the pipe line.

The invitation for this event is ONLY EXTENDED to RAF & Civilian Contractor Families and to Fully paid up members/associate members and affiliate members that join from recognized aviation societies in the UK such as RAes Chester, Clwyd Aviation Group and other groups that have contacted me to arrange membership. Rather than take up valuable space on the forum contact me on photocallmanager@valleyaviationsociety.net if anyone needs further advice or clarification.

regards

Dick Thomas
