I think is a reasonable request to get some reviews of Tripod being used and which are good and which are just not up to scratch. I have a Jessops Velbon CX-560 Tripod it is a basic model and doesn't allow for ease of tracking with a not so fast release mechanism. I would love to see what others have and recommend.

Manfrotto user . thou i do have a few of those cheap giveaway types and for a small compact or even a DSLR they can be used, and for the money they steady your camera .and to be honest they are very light and compact and i prefer useing them in museums etc with a small lens attached. the ones with the hook at the bottom of the tripod mast are very good as you can hang your camera bag on it and weight it down . do not stick big lens on the cheapo ones the heads are made from plastic and i would not trust them as they can snap .as ive said they are fine for small light comapcts .

Still using a mono I made for "O" level CDT. Ball in cup design, as fluid as you want (WD-40). Maybe a thought! Cheap as chips but fit for purpose? I think so. Shame my photography medium may not show it to it's best effect. I'll hunt out some images. ;)
