The Dutch display F-16 was the only 'fast jet' down to fly at this years Malta International Airshow so I popped along to catch some of the static arrivals on Friday.

The Germans arrived early enough to catch some unusually rare Maltese sun

Followed by a KC135R from the100th ARW (no pic sorry) in formation with 2x493FS F15C's from Lakenheath

The F15's put on a good show with three or four run & breaks complete with burner much to the delight of the large number of watching Maltese families.

A C130 "Herky 31" was next but again no pic Friday 25 Sept - Malta 608622

2x GR9's were next with the second performing a full hover and 360 turn right infront of a very full spotters wall

The "Orange" display team arrived with the standby grey F-16 performing the fast go arounds for the now very large crowd

2 French AlphaJets were the last I saw arrive before I had to leave

With no room on the wall I had to shoot through the chain link fence- so my shots of the KC135 & USAF C130 were no good, but thanks to tips on fence photography I picked up from this sites forum my day wasn't wasted - and at only about 47p each way by bus from my hotel in Valletta can't complain.

Will post some shots from the next days actual display soon in the airshow section (as there may well be civilian content)
