Saab Gripen

Yesterday at 16:42 Saw a Saab Gripen Fly over Melksham was it due in to RAF Lyneham Also Lastnight Was following ACE 134 On my Radio from RAF Lyneham Whos Call Sign Is ACE please?

The Gripen is a Swedish example and has been operating out of Lyneham for the last few weeks, carrying out missile trials.

"ACE" is Air Charter Express, normally operating DC-8's.

Think that was the last gripen sortie out of lyneham for this detachment, think they might have left already. Ohwell I guess a phantom will have to do....

That was air charter who I am told should be changing to meridian cargo this week and bringing in the new kid to lyneham AXC....

The Phantom blasted over my in Corsham from what looks like a very nice low takeoff about half an hour ago.

The F4 Phantom at 16:39 Did a low pass On Reheat for a Couple of Seconds over Melksham also Im on base On Saterday Marshalling for some 10K Race round the Base when I've done That With Air Cadets at about 12:00PM There giving Use a tour round the Base, In the Hangers so aswell as getting a close up of the C-130'S I hope I get a close up of the F-4 Phantom.
