I may pay a visit to Cottesmore next week again, i went a few weeks back but they were on 04 Sad A harrier popped a nose wheel on landing so the other 7 jets diverted to Whittering Sad I had one Harrier come to the end and taxi pased me, i got some nice shots of him with the Canopy open!

There is a thread under RAF Cottesmore / RAF Wittering already about this but i will state it anyway.

The Apache called in today which was a very nice suprise also alot of Harrier activity including 3 ship Harrier formation arrive before splitting and landing. Of coarse the Harriers came in time for the heavy downpour. Glare

Think this has been cleared up in another thread. They were nothing to do with QRA this deployment, and they weren't armed. They were temporarily detached as Coningsby had a no flying day on Wednesday 15th. They were 4x29 sqn jets (owned or 'loaned') so presumably there was a need for them to continue/complete some particular aspect of their training by a deadline. Have they rtb yet?
