For the second day running, US F15s are very active on the range. MOGOL81 is currently on the range, targeting a "red, single storey, wendy house"!! Mention of Exercise Flying Rhino:

7/9/09 - 18/9/09 Exercise FLYING RHINO 09-2
LFA 14
Exercise FLYING RHINO is a small-scale Close Air Support exercise for 1 (UK) Armoured Division that will provide essential Forward Air Controller training and qualification. UK fast-jets together with US F-15Es from the 494th Tactical Fighter Wing at Lakenheath will participate. Flying activity will be on weekdays only, and will take place at both low and medium levels. Some night flying may be scheduled, but activity will be completed by 2200 hrs (Monday to Thursday only)

The F15s are now switching to Scottish Mil control, back to Lakenheath I assume.

Tornados today - they're bombing the Taliban by the ISO containers!! Great comms on 279.125 between the ground forward controllers and the pilots.
