EDIT: Post this was in reply to deleted by Mod. Jason, Ask yourself why people have taken the time to look and move on? By stamping your feet all you are going to get is a wave of sympathy votes that will not help to improve your photography.
This was a comment that you made on your August Coningsby visit.
http://fightercontrol.forumotion.com/recent-photos-f3/coningsby-27-8-09-t14643.htm
". ive decided to go against editing unless absolutley necessary - mainly cause i think it kind of makes the picture fake (and i cant be bothered) all un-edited"
If you can't be 'bothered' in a simple bit of editing then seriously what are you expecting? It is all about presentation of your work. The main thing that people are going to see straight away is that the horizons are not level. It just totally detracts from the image. You say that you have edited this current batch, but the horzions on the ground shots are still not level. I would say that you are overfilling the frame with the subject and leaving no room for any errors that you make pick up with original camera angles. Horizons are not an easy thing to get right and especially if the subject is moving, but most people have this as part of their post processing workflow. Unfortunately if you are using a cropped sensor if you overfill the frame then there isn't a lot that you can do about it.

Looks like you need to alter your stance, or the way you hold your camera, as they are just about all on the 'wonk'!
If you had edited them, as TJ states, you may well have got a few more remarks.
Look forward to seeing your next set.

Some nice clear pics there but as Dunk said there all on the wonk. The first thing people look for in a good image is level horizon and sharpness. You've got the sharpness there so i too will be looking foward to your next post
Looks like a superb place to shoot Typhoons - might have to join you up there one day soon...

thank you for the comments...
teej: yes as in editing i meant i still had to go through the 600 pics i took, pick the ones i thought were the best, open them in photoshop and resize them (which took AGES!) the only other thing i done on some of them was alter the saturation abit to make the grass abit greener.
dont take this the wrong way but "on the wonk" ?! its just how it is at coningsby, all ive done it try to make sure the jet is straight on the picture, i know im still new at the photography biz but that was the best i could do on the day.

Take the picture of the 2 Tonkas coming on to the runway for example.
Look at the fence in the background, notice how it slopes down from left to right, the fence is actually virtually level.
You can straighten the pictures by using the crop tool to move the picture left or right, I know it takes time, but people appreciate effort, and you will be rewarded by comments.
Check out other threads from Coningsby and you will see the difference in their shots to yours, with regard to being straight.
As said youve got some pretty good shots, they just need that final bit of tinkering to make them great shots.

Just been reading other peoples comments Jason. In regards to your pictures on the 'wonk' and not straight, well to be honest its your choice to post the pics in the first place which im sure everyone appriciates ( i do ) and no one has said that the pics have to be perfect..! I feel that you have done a great job in taking your pics and to be honest the way you have taken them 'wonky' or not is your unique way to take the pics and others should be grateful that your sharing your pics of the day with all of us in the first place.! I cant believe there are people in this forum room that criticize others pics. Love the pics Jason im just 1 of the many who appreciates you sharing your photos with us..! Because you didn't have to.

cheers garry you are an absolute legend!
i didnt even notice the background was "on the wonk" when i was taking them or even when i got them all on the pc, all i can think of is that im just focusing on the main part of the photo - being the plane obviously. thats why i flipped out in that post (which mods deleted) as i thought they were the best pictures i had ever taken, but got no comments and well over 100 views. to which i later found out that something thats not the main part of the photo ruined them. so all i can say is ill try take abit more time to get them straight! although it is pretty hard standing on top of a step ladder in the wind shaking on a flat piece of land let alone on a mound of soggy cow crap. then of course trying to keep still from the the buzz of a jet taking off, taxxiing, landing etc.
we will have to arrange another day when we can all get up there garry as last time was a right laugh, cya soon

What people have provided is constructive criticism. There is a big difference! Jason has realised that he was focusing on the main part of the photo which was the aircraft. It would be like taking a photo of a person against a nice landscape at an angle. It just wouldn't look right and it would detract overall from the main subject.
Jason is obviously holding the camera with a distinct right hand down bias. With moving subjects it isn't an easy thing to get perfect everytime. That is why most people have it as part of their post-processing workflow. Some cameras have levelling aids on the screen to assist. All it takes is a bit of concentration to level the camera using those aids. If for example the aircraft is holding then you have a chance to either level up using a building roof, or a line of fencing etc. If an aircraft is coming into land then level the camera up before hand with something on the horizon and try to keep that level as you pan with the aircraft.
See guide for post processing levelling.
http://www.airliners.net/faq/editing_guide.php#leveling
Have a look through the following link. Pages and pages of shots from RAF Coningsby where you can see examples of level, well presented shots.

Hi Jason
Do not take it personally when people do not take time to pass comment on your shots. What you find with many forum groups is there are alot of people who are watchers, they do not contribrute for their own reasons. Reasons I have heard is fear of being ridiculed, not quite getting it right etc etc. I do post comment on peoples shots, as I`m a keen photographer, and if I can pass any tips on that help I try to do so. Knowing my subject gives me the confidence to pass comment, in a constructive way hopefully, without bringing the photographer down. Your shots have improved tremendously over a period of time and I understand sifting through 600 shots is very time consuming. What I tend to do now is not just fire away, I look at the composition of the shot and concentrate on technique and quality rather than volume. It is very easy to get carried away in the excitement of the day, but try to slow down, relax and concentrate on getting the shot you want. Try and get use to using a workflow for your shots and perhaps a bit of batch processing will help reduce the time you are spending on them. I`m by no means a great photographer, but I take time and care in what I produce for posting and yes it is frustrating when certain people pass comment on an individual shots then not on your own. Stick at it mate, keep posting, they are improving all the time but most of all ENJOY IT.
Andy
