Picture request.

Hello all.
Way back in 1984 as a young Air Cadet, I was photographed infront of ZA555, a Tornado GR1(T) of 45sqn TWCU at RAF Honington, I am now in the very early stages of making a model of this very aircraft, but unfortunately this aircraft crashed a couple of years later on 02/12/1986 near Diss in Norfolk and was written off! I have searched the internet from end to end and found only 2 pictures of ZA555.

I know this is a bit of a longshot, but I was wondering if any members of FC may have some old prints or slides of ZA555 in any shape or form, that they would be able to scan and post on FC so that I could use them for reference, I would me most greatful if this were possible Cheers

I have found pictures of other 45sqn Tornado's which helps but you can't beat having pic's of the actual aircraft Whistle

Hi Sheff, thanks for the reply, are they the same pic,s I added the links to in the original post? If so these pictures will be very useful, but any other pictures would be much appreciated.

ah yes, sorry I didn't notice the links, they'll be the same shots. I'll keep a lookout for any others though - might be working on a Tornado project fairly soon so one or two might crop up.

At least you managed to get a pic infront of one of the based aircraft and with your berets off !!!

All we got was a picture in front of the Buccaneer.

Were you also on Annual Camp there in 84, and was the Buccaneer the Gate Guard? i can't quite remember!!!

I was there 3 years later.

We were with 4 sqns of cadets and we did a mutiny because we were stuck out on the football pitch at Barnham camp in the bad weather.

In the end we managed to get into the accomodation blocks. I spent 2 days with the RAF Police and we went flying with 5AEF at Cambridge in the Chippys.

They were good days.

I did a camp there in the 90's after the jets had left....Night ex on Barnham etc...Cadets in AWOC (Hardened site). 45 cadets in racked bunks, limited showers, one door....v. thick!
Thank goodness I was asn Officer in the Mess.
