Well, this has to go down as one of the wettest and most poorly attended (in terms of aircraft) shows in a long time.

The weather was awful and made photography a struggle much of the time, not some of my better efforts. Thank goodness for RAW images.

You weren't the only one struggling, mucked up a few good chances myself. I never bump up the ISO Laughing

I normally try and stick to 100 ISO, but against my better judgement I set the 40D to "Auto" and it seemed to be shooting on 400 much of the time. At the end of the day, the light was pants, pure and simple.

Mine was ISO 200 all day, my camera's lowest. The light was not bad for the Sea King and the Typhoon, but the Tornados and Reds it was to be realist. Was sunny from 2.30 onwards Laughing so I got some ok statics.

I gave up after the Reds and decided that I'd had enough. There didn't seem to be anything else worth waiting for as Tonkas aren't exactly rare around here.

Why did the 5 Tonkas need 20 minutes from take-off to display ?
During that time half of the crowd got bored and left.

It looked to me as though they waited for the weather to clear a little before proceeding - I recall being dowsed with rain and praying that they wouldn't start until the slightly drier patch moved in - and so it was - even so the weather to the West of the field was dire.
