Hi,
this has appeared at Alconbury, it would seem to be on or near the old 'last chance' at the owl end departure. Its huge, probably 80 -100 feet high. I photted it from the train at high speed.

Looking at those red chutes,it looks to me like what they use on buildings to throw rubble down into skips, could the health and safety executive or similar organisation be trying a new idea out.

This is purely my own thoughts but a large lighting and staging company ive worked with are in one of the old hangers at the western end and may be testing something for one of their jobs? My dad works in the Concert staging and lighting industry and i know that before groups go on tours they hire large spaces like old airfields or a popular one is the old airship hangers at Carddington in bedford and test out the rigging for Health and saftey and do rehersals etc. Could be somthing like that?

I think you are correct. My boss knows the guy in charge of the airfield, he asked him, and he said its for an upcoming tv show of some sort! Ray
