I'm gonna bin the old desktop I think, bring myself into the 21st century and get a laptop with wireless internet.
Anyone got a Dell Inspiron 15 or 17? What sort of specs should I be looking for - won't be doing anything too strenous with regards to gaming, just internet, Microsoft Office, maintaining my web-site and of course a bit of photographic editing. Maybe a bit of Football Manager every now and again, but to be honest I think I've grown out of that - never thought I would ever say that!

Hi Steve I`ve just got a new laptop and having read all there is to know about laptops I was confused as regards which brand to go for. I too was looking at a `Dell` thinking household name and top brand. Until I went to both Currys and PC World and both stated that `Dell` were not has good as they would like you to believe. Obviously this made it worst and I ended up getting a `Acer` which both stores had surprisingly recommended and i`m so glad they did. Cheers Ian in Skegness

One thing you dont get offered as much on laptops as desktops is dedicated graphics memory which is virtually essential for fast photo editing. This really limits the choice in Currys/PC world etc. I ended going with a Compaq with NVIDIA graphics and have not had any probs so far but I'm yet to really push it. Hope this helps
