What do you mean by registrations AND codes? Serial Numbers and Hex Codes?

Hi Ben/Mike, got a few codes AE---- ect, but no registrations so can't identfy squadron and find any pic's, getting the mode s code from my sbs1.

From what I understand they keep switching round the Hex codes for different airframes, so on SBS it will have no serial as no one is ever sure which Hex is which aircraft!
