I understand this is not strictly the correct sort of request for this section, but will try anyways...
I have recently returned from a tour of Afghanistan with the RAF and my time out there provided some great opportunities for number-crunching hobby... So I was wondering if anybody was able to provide me with the correct information to the following code requests! (All my info is out-of date) Here goes:
??/150 (white numbers believed to be the last three of the serial) CH-47 was out with 159th CAB; ??/YN54, ??/YN55, ??/YN56 - H-53s HMH-361; ??/341 (white numbers believed to be the last three of the serial) UH-60 also with 159th CAB; ??/46-44 C-130J Italian AF; ??/634, (last three of serial) UH-60 with 82nd CAB; 70840 U-28 70829 U-28 ??/55, ??/56, ??/54 - MH-47's I believe serials are 05-3754 thru 56 (confimation?); ???/374, ???/003, ???/553, ???/122, ???/347, ???/375 (again all are believed to be serial last three) H-58D's with the 82nd CAB; ??/WE20, ??/WE02 - AV-8B VMA-214 (also the 'CAG bird' with black tail was there, unknown serial and code) 162006/??, 161283/?? along with ??/63 and ??/58 - CH-53E's unit unknown and no letters seen believe still HMH-361 ??/AG303 - F/A-18C (Believed to be with VFA-136) ??/610 - P-3C ??/61-PA C-130 French AF
Those are all I have. If anybody can help me with these requests I would be very grateful! Many Thanks
Iain

Right, I've answered all I could using Military Aircraft Markings 2009, and the databases on Scramble.nl Italian AF C-130J 46-44 is MM62179 from 2 or 50 Gruppo French AF C-130 61-PA is 5114, from ET02.061 AV-8Bs WE-20 and WE-02 are 164143 and 165419 respectively The H-53 (CH-53E) YN-54 is 161997, I can't find info on the other two. The CH-53E 162006 is YX-25 and operating with HMM-166 The code 161283 is coming up as an F-14A! The F/A-18C AG-303 is 164244 and with VFA-83. That's all I can find, and the units may be more out of date than what you have. Hope that helps! Ben

Not a problem, happy to help. Its probably that you just got one digit wrong on that serial, I'll have a go with different variations on Scramble and see if I can come up with a guess as to what the H-53 was! Ben
