In a clear blue, contrail-crossed sky, over a major British city, the objects hung silently, before many of the people below were even awake. They sailed majestically towards the sun, which had only just risen, like a silent airborne armada, their numbers continually increasing as more lifted up, up and away. So began the second full day of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2009. The newest addition to the GAR Team, John Higgins, reports.
