Was that three flying or just three there in total ??

I really hope it wasnt just three in total. I spemt two tours at good olod ISK and would hate to think there were just three on the pan in total. I remember days on my first tour in 89 when Bays 1-9, 10 and 11 and most of 13-17 were full. Plus I am planning to head up for some photos before the MR2's all disappear.

God I feel old !!

Bear in mind there are currently a/c operating from Seeb and KAF, plus on det to JAX and elsewhere. Recently there have been five or six MR.2s about, five was an average number on the ground at Lossie whilst Kinloss was closed recently.

I'd be interested to know how many a/c are actually airworthy at present.

I think the number left serviceable cant be far into double figues, if that. Its a real shame watching the fleet dwindle away. I can remember days in Ops when we had a dozen frames on the camp, plus the ones on det.

Dont worry,we'll have shed-loads of MRA4's(12) to replace them soon,if we live long enough !
Don't forget about the Nimrods that were taken out of the fleet(11) to get converted into AEW3's,and then they were all scrapped.
