Xl Airways at Brize Norton

Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone knew some information on the 2 Airbus A330's that are currently at Brize Norton. I knew they use to hold the MoD contract to fly to the Falklands but they are now in Administration. Are these just leased, or have the RAF bought them towards the MRTT program?

Location : MACC ,CHESHIRE

Think these two belong to XL France, when XL went bump they used these to ferry stranded pax back to Manchester from various holiday destinations.As far as i know they are still going in France and are on the French register accordingly.

This is just a guess (so im ready to be shot down) but perhaps they have been leased to see how well they fit in the new A330 hangar? The hangar has taken shape quite quickly. Not sure how true it is, but ive been told the plan is to be able to fit one A330 inside the hangar completly and enough space to fit most of a second A330 inside with just the tail sticking outside.

I am having a conversation (argument) about this, and they say that they have been bought for use in Cardivac and other services. Can anyone confirm or deny it?

Must've appeared recently. They weren't there at the weekend or before IIRC.

Just had confirmation through that there is no and haven't been any XL's at Brize recently - So rumour is false I'm afraid.
