I will be spending the day in Darlington on Saturday (8th Aug) after dropping some family off there. Any ideas of were I can go to put some hours in....... Roll Eyes

If you don't mind a 30 min drive you could head up the A19 and visit the North East Aircraft Museum

  • 8th & 9th August 2009 - Jeeps
    and Jets
    The Jeeps & Jets return for the 3rd consecutive year with
    this years event destined to be even bigger than the 2008 weekend.
    The doors open at 10:00am with plenty shows and displays planned
    throughout the day including - vintage vehicles, motor bikes, mini
    tank models, a 1940's fashion show, emergency services display and
    Springer spaniel rescue dogs. Our main exhibit, the Avro Vulcan will
    be open for cockpit visits where visitors can see at close hand the
    restoration work being performed to date. Free car parking is
    available at the Nissan works and normal admission tariffs apply.
    Hot food, hot & cold beverages and snacks will all be available
    on-site.

And plenty of Railway history at Darlington.Drive down the A1 or catch a train down the east coast to Knebworth for the Led Zeppelin 30th Annaversary.. Clap

Don't forget the North East Aviation Museum at Sunderland, it's an easy trip up the A19.

I can definitely recommend the museum at sunderland, good bunch of lads an lasses there, and the Vulcan is worth a visit.There is also an argy pucara in one of the sheds.

Shouldn't bother with Durham Tees Valley it only has about 5 or 6 flights all day on sunday
