After seeing them taking it in the neck this week what are your thoughts.
Me personally, I would sack the lot of them and spend the money on better things than all of the equipment that they have. Do they ever get it right???? I am sure forecasting is no better now than it was years ago.
And whats the point of a five day forecast when a forecast for 24hours changes about five times a day.
How many days have you rearranged due to their forecast only to find that they have got it wrong.
As for their summer prediction what a lot of tosh. June and early July have been good for the last 3 years then the down pours start around the Fairford show time. 3 years ago the week after Fairford floods, last year floods and this year also floods.
Does anyone use a better site than the metoffice.
Another question why do metcheck and metoffice sometimes show completely different forecasts????

If you were planning on visiting my neck of the woods, Boston Lincs (for Coningsby), I run a web site that includes 'live' weather readings on most days from my weather station. (Check the last update time)
www.lincs2locations.co.uk/weather
I also find this site great, it is available from a link on my site and here:
http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
You can watch live rain radar. The fasinating thing is that you can watch rain banks fizzle out or develop as they cross the country from minute to minute. Its no wonder the 'experts' get wrong.
Im a firm believer that it doesn't rain then it'll stay fine.

What a good topic. It can never be an exact science, too many variables, but from what I gather the incessant rain for the last 3 years is due to the gulfstream being over us rather than slightly north where it should be. Whether (or weather ) that is due to global warming is open to discussion, but even I, as a sceptic on man's effects on the planet's eco system, am starting to believe that we are partly responsible. I still recollect the BBC saying in 1987 there wouldn't be a hurricane yet we suffered enormous damage and even the seven oaks in Sevenoaks were felled. I haven't trusted them since then. Anyway living in Wales we are used to the rain even when the rest of the UK is basking in sunshine. You can't predict it so you have to roll with it but it does cheese me off all the same!

Do as I do, watch whether the pine cones are open or closed. Simples.

According to the weathermen it is getting warmer so we need more wind turbines.
Deserts will be getting bigger.
But Europe will become tropical.
When this happens we will all have to drink more.
One thing is certain Glastonbury will be wet.
Cows in Scotland will be swamped by global warming.
we will all have to live on floating cities.
And our vehicles will have to be adapted for the changes.
But don't worry because Gordon Brown is going to save us all.
And turn the whole world green.
Then we can have that BBQ summer they promised us.
