Have been thinking about getting this lens for a while now! Will mainly be used for take off/landing shots, and a walk around lens, replacing my 18-55 kit one.Has anyone any experience of this lens.
Regards Sooty.

I have used this lens for a few years now. It is a very good lens as long as you do not shoot at wide open apertures. Always stop down half to one stop. If you shoot something like a doorway with straight verticals etc, you do get quite a slight pin-cushion effect and also barrel distortion on wide angle. But dont let that put you off because in my experience all wide to tele zooms are the same. Prime lenses are the answer, but it is not good practice with digital to keep swapping lenses for the problem of dust. You can keep the Sigma 18-200 on all the time. If your budget can stretch, I would go for the Sigma 18-200 OS (Optical stabilised). Great for hand held work.
