Hi all
I have a Canon 1000D with a EF 24-70 usm Lens and have just bought a Sigma 70-300 APO DG Lens.....
Can i use a tele-converter with the Sigma lens?
If yes can i choose between the Sigma or the Canon and 1.4x or 2 x ?.

What would you recommend

Cheers in advance

Simon

I stand to be corrected here, I have the same lens with a Nikon fitment and I believe they will not take a teleconverter

You can almost certainly not use the Canon EF TC's on those lens as they are not designed to work with EF-S lens (they simply will not fit). I don't know if a similar restriction exists with the SIGMA design.

That said, even if the SIGMA one did fit you will loose autofocus as even the 1.4x will push you over the minimum apputure required for autofocus on your body (f5.6). Also there is zero point putting on the 24-70 as that would simply put you in the range already covered by your 70-300!

To be honest I'd expect the quality to suck with a TC on that lens, so i'd save your money
