Subject: Lowestoft Air Display - Thursday & Friday 2009-07-26, 16:42 |

As we've been dog sitting just outside Norwich for the last 5 days, we were able to make the short journey across to Lowestoft for both days of the airshow, and again the organisers put up an incredible array of aircraft! Whilst some of the displays seemed a little distant, and others somewhat benign, I thought the Dutch F-16 was simply outstanding, especially on Friday when he popped a few flares!
Thursday faired better with the weather, although it was still a case of taking advantage of the blue sectors of sky that were dotted around throughout the day Friday started off well, however, slowly but surely the clouds roiled in, and bloody big ones they were too! Many left at this point, indeed, the aircraft schedule was all but lost, I imagine ATC were struggling with the weather-inflicted delays etc.
That said, a stunning line-up nevertheless, and all for a paltry two quid donation. I put a tenner in each day, but was pretty much stunned (as were all around at the time judging by the expressions) when I heard one group complaining about the 'cost', I wonder how many more there were like them?
Maybe they took advantage of the powerboat racing Saturday and Sunday, that was free, and I'd highly recommend it.
Anyway, here's my offerings, C&C welcome.
Cheers,
Kev.
