my 3500xlt scanner stopped producing sound half way through Riat on saturday. i can still get sound through headphones! any ideas please

All sorts of ideas but I'll stick to ones that could relate to your scanner: -
you've shafted the earphone socket
the speaker has died

Both are common problems with Uniden scanners

first time ive ever had to use the headphone scoket was this weekenjd after the speaker wasnt produing any sound

Suggest you ask the QC dept at Uniden (not that it will do you much good as they don't give a fig for UK customers)

mine went about three months ago i have seen other people on here with the same prob if im right uniden wont sell you a replase ment speaker

its a exspencive repair

So it will be within the manufacturers warranty ...return it to the dealer and ask them to get it sorted!
