In a sticky directly above your post is this - SPOTTING GUIDE - had you consulted this you'd have known exactly where to go. Lossiemouth is just about the most Spotter-friendly base in the UK, and in 28 years of regular attendance I have never had any trouble with the RAF Police, so I can only assume you must have been somewhere pretty strange as they seldom if ever bother anyone. There is a huge resource of information on this board which is ideal for advance planning which would save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

Daffy, can you please check your posts before posting as they do not make any sense at all
I can only assume that you were up to no good at Lossie as I have never heard of RAF Police threatening to nick a civilian on the outside of the fence and I worked there for 15+ years and have spotted there for 25+ years

If you were standing under the approach then they do tend to get a bit touchy with good reason. My advice is to take your pics quickly and move to the side. Of course, if you stood on the track then they wouldn't see you.

I've just got back from RIAT and honestly can't believe what I'm reading. Lossie is one of the most spotter-friendly bases in the world,(never mind Britain !).I have been to Lossie 100's of times and have never even been spoken to by the Police. What have you done Mr Duck ?

Mmmmm, so Lossie must think that we are all in the ATC, as I have never heard of anyone being asked to move. This is a wind up isn't it?

In my days as an Air Cadet and ATC instructor, prior to joining the RAF, I was taught how to behave on and around RAF bases, something the Air Cadet organisation clearly hasn't imparted to our ill-informed member. I'm not sure how much of this is reality and how much is forum attention seeking,

Not wishing to cast doubt but perhaps Daffy Duck could explain to us all what he was doing when spoken to by the RAF Police? You would not have been bothered for simply watching the aircraft? I would be grateful if Daffy's reply was easy to read? Can I ask all other members to refrain from posting in this thread for the time being? That way we will avoid strong emotions - thank you.

Thanks Mr Duck, but you have not answered the question as to why the RAF Police took an interest in you? It might help other members to understand why, in the future, if the RAFP are becoming "jittery"! Many thanks.
