Does anybody if the Lowestoft display aircraft will be opperating from either Marham or Cottesmore? Both have family day's Thursday and Friday. Think the jet stuff used Marham last year.

Hi, I dont know for definite but Marham will probably be the operating base for some of the displays. Like you say it was used last year & it has always been used in previous years. The Grace Spitfire should be operating out of its home base of Bentwaters. TankBuster

The fast jets use Marham the landing fees are a joke at Norwich, also problem getting the correct fuel at Norwich.Marham have a families day on as well so it has cut down the available ramp space.Lowestoft tried to get the Frecce but Marham didnt have the parking space.

Yep, saw the 2 alphajets in at Norwich this morning, E67 with special tail art etc, looked good. 1x F16 has just buzzed my office at Wymondham, solo hawk likewise half hour ago, and lynx flew over 5 mins ago. Makes a change from C17s and F15s all the time! Will be here early tomorrow guys! Park n Ride stinging ya £10 this year, cheaper to go on train as station metres away from seafront.

Vulcan will not be displaying today, due to a gear bracket needing to be replaced.

Thursday at Lowestoft was an excellent show, so far the best this year IMO. Before 558 came in to display I could see her holding to the South & at the same time was listening to the comms between the crew & Lowestoft ATC on my scanner, I was really surprised to be able to hear the whine of 558's engines through my scanner as the Vulcan crew transmitted their messages to the ATC....
The 558 crew did a cracking display & produced a much appreciated howl, I was really really impressed . Even my mother in-law commented on what a beautiful aircraft 558 is .
Brilliant weather for most of the day... until 5 mins after the Reds had closed the show when a massive stormcloud moved slowly along the beach absoloutely soaking everyone & everything in it's path .
Thanks Lowestoft for a great day out!

Hi vinnyboy,
I take it you are part of the Air Festival Team? Well thanks again to you all for a great day . I think it was certainly the best Air Festival yet, I really enjoyed the classic jets, esp XH558.
I too hope the Air Festival will go ahead next year. It is really such a well orgainised event & my family always enjoys the superb atmosphere. This is certainly the best sea front air show on the East Coast.
Fingers crossed for 2010?
