Was wondering if anyone knew what time the air displays start for Windermere show over the weekend 25/26 July? Im at Center parcs at Whinfell, so thought I might pop down - although traffic will be a mare.
Last time I checked the line up was:
Saturday 25th JULY RAF Chinook RAF Hawk RAF BBMF - Spitfire / Hurricane / Dakota Jet Provost Vulcan Bomber - yeah right! Yakovlevz Aerobatic Team P-51D Mustang
Sunday 26th JULY RAF Red Arrows RAF BBMF RAF Chinook RAF Hawk Team Guinot Swift Aerobatic team Yakovlevz team Jet Provost
Any info on timings, or timings from previous years appreciated - ta.

I take it you've looked on their website? It seems you are being encouraged to buy a programme in advance to get the flying times, but these are often subject to alterations any way.
I'll be going on Saturday to see the Vulcan IF it arrives, if not I should get to see in next month when it will l'll literally be able to watch it display from our front garden... IF it arrives !! After all I missed it twice last year too.

I have been told that the Yakovlevz start proceedings on Saturday at 12 midday, other than that not got a clue. Parking will be a nightmare though, i plan to get there on the Saturday no later than 9.30am.
Those attending on Saturday might be interested that Kirkbride Airfield (just up the road near Wigton) are having an Open Day on Sunday, lots of goodies going there including Sokol Kraguj / isaacs Fury / Navion / Harvard / YAK-50 and displays by Newcastle JP / BBMF / Pitts Special. (apologies for the plug LOL)

Aye, Chris, I can imagine what it'll be like getting parked! It's bad enough on a normal Weekend. It'll be the first time I've been to it, we're usually away somewhere.
I even considered taking the boat down early morning & watching from afloat. I could get some fishing in, as well as some good photos of the planes !!

It says on the Air show website that there will be no viewing points on the Western shore as part of a flying safety zone. Does this mean the Old Hall Road road which runs up the Western shoreline will be closed?

I've been told that the Vulcan was closing the show at Windermere on Saturday, but I can't guarantee the source in any way at all!
(Updated) The flight details that I had assumed were for Newcastle airport flight slots looks more like the flight plan for the airshow itself, so it looks like the Vulcan is doing its 8 minute display at Sunderland from 16.00 to 16.08.
If it was to fly on to Windermere after displaying at Sunderland perhaps those who fly could get the calculators out to work out poss ETA for Windermere - my very random guess would be to have a viewing spot for a display around 4.45-5pm? If it has arrived from Windermere then it looks like a mid afternoon slot at Windermere to give it a bit of time to get to the north east for the Sunderland airshow. If I get an update of the airport schedules that may help.
